Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO

So far i've seen DT 770 and 990 Pro, 700 and 900 Pro X, ATH-M50x, MDR-7506, Sennheiser HD 25, and now the HD 600s.

had my dt990 since 2022 n the screws started breaking on me as well bc the plastic clasp screw hole lost its threads or sum

The way the first picture came out makes it look like you’re holding an enormous pair of DT 990s

I am no expert but I also have a pair of 990 pros and yours look very damn close, down to the texture of the plastics. I’d say it’s probably a real one.

The 990 shares the same driver as the 770, so it won’t be an upgrade. You’ll just experience less bass and a larger soundstage.

DT990 have way better vocals than DT770. Closed back headphones have dips all over the spectrum. It's a difference in detail even if the driver is the same.

They were the first headphones I ever had to return. The treble just really was too much.

With those three things in mind I was assuming the 990s could do it.

if your ears are not bleeding from that dt770 treble then 990 will do it for sure :)

Yes, the 990's are much brighter in the upper mids and especially the treble. That's the main difference, their bass is about the same as the 900 Pro X.

if you want open back DT 990 Pro X plus Dekoni earpads and they became perfect

I personally really dislike the 770 and would take the 990 any day.
