i find the steam on the e24 to be fine without it. i start steaming when the temp on the pid shows 145c and it's always worked.

You'd probably need to temperature surf the E24 for the best experience.
Stock E24 has more temperature stability than stock older GCPs, it has a larger boiler with more thermal mass, and it has more steam power than older models.
my concern with the gaggia is it would extend my morning routine by a considerable amount. Unless I’m understanding it wrong, the heat up time and fussiness over grind would make it too much work for
